 We are happy to announce that our Free Newspaper Solution POP will be used in Luxembourg too. This proves the quality and continuity of POP among many free newspaper editions among Europe.

 Recently a client asked me about the cloud. He wanted one simple answer: "What is the right one?". "There is no right one!" was my answer. We at Singleton are actually using at least 3 clouds! Depending on your requirments you might use more than one cloud. Next to our local cloud partner, we also started using Amazon Cloud for certain use cases. It gives us the maximum of flexibility, paying only for the resources we need and only for the time we need. If you consider using AWS you might need an easy to use task scheduler like Skeddly. It made our life easier for backup planning, restarting instances and so on. Take a look, we love it!

In order to gain more flexibility Singleton Solutions is changing the hosting provider. Until today Singleton hosted its software solutions on own hardware. The cloud based service provided by Cyberlink offers us the maximum performance, security, reliability and flexibility.

Singleton Solutions started to develop own Web TV streaming solution. It should fullfill the following key features:

• Device independent
• Network independent
• Payment processor integration
• Strong back office support

After relaunch in last autumn, Punkt CH had great success in the operational part of the business. The design was fresh and modern, distributionwas brought to a great level, circulation increased and returns reduced within 3 Months from over 20% level down to 5% with support of our solution POP (Press Optimization Planner). The financial crisis made the investors step back and since end of June Punkt CH AG is officially bankrupt.

We are happy that we could work together with this great logistics team which helped us to bring POP one great step forward.

POP will be used from all major free newspapers in Switzerland. In autumn 3 additional papers will support their distribution, circulation planning, hand distribution and other operational tasks with POP 2.x. The first launch will be 1st September 2009, next 1st October 2009 for the other two newspapers. A fourth is announced for January 2010.

Singleton Solutions introduces in cooperation with Daily Motion GmbH another revolutionary step for serving free newspapers: the new RackSolution hardware component.

Another free newspaper in Switzerland chose POP. After starting the evaluation of software solutions, the decision was done faster then expected. Since this week POP is integrated, up and running. The communication overflow and data inconsistence by using dozens of excel sheets is past for our new client.

After .NET 2, ajax and a mountain of new requirements we got from our valuable users, we can announce the release of POP 2.0. We love it!

Like in Sweden, Singleton will outsource the server housing to an professional company. This ensures a high physical protection and better connectivity to the world wide web.

In order to provide also in the future an inovative solution and keep the costs in mind, we decided to open a branch in Serbia. This will become our main development unit with young and highly motivated developers team. Our Silicon Valley!

Another partnership in Sweden could be settled. POP is used in Stockholm, Goteborg and Malmo.

In order to provide high performance and availability we set up a new server housing at our head quarter in Kloten, Switzerland.

POP is used for the first time by a new Free Newspaper in Switzerland.

Our first hosting service of our Solution Press Optmization Planner 1.0 for Free Newspapers started this autumn in Sweden.
